2. Sometimes, different voltages are required in an environment, and the transformer can be made into a multi-winding or middle-tap type. Then, a variety of voltages can be generated.

3. For long-distance input power lines, in order to reduce line losses, the electricity from the power plant should be boosted to tens of thousands of volts (such as 11KV), and then stepped down (such as 220V) when it reaches the destination.

4. During electric welding, the current required between the electrode and the weldment is very large (tens of hundreds of amps), while the voltage is very small (several volts). The electric welding machine is a transformer, which converts high voltage (such as 220V) into Low voltage. And without changing the power, a large current occurs at the output.

5. In the communication voltage stabilizer, the number of turns of the output coil is changed in real time to achieve the purpose of regulating the output voltage.

Special transformers are transformers with special uses. Usually, special transformers have various other uses in addition to changing the AC voltage. For example, changing the frequency of the power supply, the power supply of rectifier equipment, the power supply of electric welding equipment, etc., because of the working conditions of these transformers , The load condition is different from that of general transformers, so the accounting method of general transformers cannot be used for accounting. At the same time, the raw materials, functions and uses of special transformers are different from those of conventional transformers.
