What should I do if the series reactor is improperly selected and burned?

The series reactor (capacitive reactor) used for the shunt capacitor is to reduce the inrush current multiple of the power capacitor bank during the switching process and restrain the higher harmonics of the power grid. Assuming that the reactor parameters are improperly selected, the harmonics will be enlarged and the reactor will increase. In practical use, if the 5th and above harmonics are to be used, a series reactor (capacitive reactor) with a reactance value of (5%-6%) xc is often used; and in order to restrain the 3rd and above harmonics, A series reactor (capacitive reactor) with a reactance value of (12%-13%) xc is often used. It should be noted that xc and xL cannot be exactly equal to prevent electromagnetic resonance and lead to overvoltage.

Generally speaking, the inductive reactance of the reactor should be slightly larger than the capacitive reactance. This avoids the resonance point and restrains the harmonics. Therefore, this requires the user to know the type of high-order harmonic components contained in the address network. And the quantity has a more detailed understanding. It is necessary to pass the test to obtain the parameters of the harmonic components.
