Why does the rectifier transformer heat up?

The heating of the rectifier transformer is one of the faults in the process of use. If it is serious, it will affect the service life of the equipment. There are many reasons for the heating of the rectifier transformer. Let's take a closer look with the editor of Xingyi Special Transformer.

1. Overheating caused by the core, winding and eddy current of the rectifier transformer. During the use of the rectifier transformer, due to the design, the quality of the raw materials, the technological level, and the operating conditions, the rectifier transformer may heat up.

2. Overheating caused by poor contact of metal connectors.

3. Overheating of the connecting bolts caused by the flat magnetism of the rectifier transformer.

4. Overheating phenomenon caused by poor heat dissipation or cooling effect of the rectifier transformer.

5. The power of the rectifier transformer is seriously insufficient or overloaded for a long time, resulting in serious heating of the rectifier transformer.

6. The enameled wire is damaged during the winding process, resulting in short-circuit heating of the rectifier transformer.

7. The grid voltage fluctuates too high, causing the rectifier transformer to be saturated.

8. The components connected to the output end of the rectifier transformer are short-circuited, causing the rectifier transformer to also heat up.

9. The silicon steel sheet of the rectifier transformer has low magnetic permeability and large loss, which causes the rectifier transformer to heat up fiercely.

Part of the iron core is overheated: the iron core is superimposed with insulating silicon steel sheets. During the operation of the rectifier transformer, due to external force damage or insulation aging and the aging of the core screw insulation, the insulation damage will damage the insulation between the silicon steel sheets, and the eddy current will increase, causing part of the heat. , In light cases, the oil temperature of the rectifier transformer cannot be generally investigated, and in severe cases, the iron core part is overheated. The oil temperature rises; the no-load loss increases, and the insulation decreases.

Pay more attention in the process of use. Once the transformer is found to be hot, find the cause from the above, and then take measures to deal with it in time, and do not cause more damage due to laziness.
